The
MP 40 (or Schmeisser) was a well done, robust sub machine gun of
caliber 9x19 and could hold 32 shots in its magazine. The MP 40 was
the Germans most used sub machine gun during World War Two and large
numbers of this gun got into the hand of the French after World War
Two. Many of the weapons were later used in France’s colonial wars,
amongst them – Indochina. It was very popular amongst the “German
battalion”, witch consisted of large sums of Germans, mainly former
soldiers from the third Reich who now served in the French Foreign
Legion.
